Two Bookish Truths and A Lie Book Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a lovely day.  Today, I'm doing the Two Bookish Truths and a Lie Book Tag.  I saw over on Kaleena's blog: Reader Voracious and I loved the idea of this tag!  I thought it would be super fun tag to do here on my blog and it can give you all a chance to get to know me a little bit better.  This tag is based on the game Two Truths and One Lie and the rules of this tag are simple:  Tell two bookish truths and tell one lie and see who can guess which one is the lie!

The 12 Days of Blogmas Tag

Hello everyone!  Happy Holidays, I hope you're having a great day.  Today, I'm doing the 12 Days of Blogmas Tag.  I was tagged by Jordan, over at My Flourishing Retrospect.  I'm not doing Blogmas this year (especially since it's almost over), but that doesn't mean I can't join in on the Christmas fun!  On a funny note, I should have done this tag way earlier than the date that this tag is going up, since a majority of the questions are meant to be answered way before it hits December.  Oops!  Anyways, let's answer some questions.

The End of the Year Book Tag~ 2018 Edition

Hello everyone!  I hope you're all having a fabulous day. I'm going to be doing a new yearly kind of post as a reflection of the current year and looking forward to the new year with my reading. Originally, I was going to try to write my own kind of tag post that was similar in name, but then I kind of gave up and later I started seeing a few people post this tag, which was kind of what I wanted to do as well.  I saw this tag first over at Destiny's blog, Howling Libraries and several others book blogger's blogs and I thought it would be a good way to look back at 2018 and things that I still want to accomplish before the year is over.  Let's jump right in!

The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright - Book Review

The Heir and the Spare Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright.  When I was on iBook's Top YA Chart, I saw this book and immediately downloaded a sample of the book.  I've been searching high and low for more royalty like books and I quickly made this book a priority on my to read next list!

3 Bookish Things Book Tag

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you're all having a fantastic day.  Today, I'm doing the 3 Bookish Things Book Tag.  I saw this tag over on Cait's blog, Paper Fury.  I though it would be super fun, but an extremely challenging tag to answer. And to be completely honest, choosing only three things for each was extremely challenging.  But nonetheless, I had fun with it anyways.

Nothing But Sky by Amy Trueblood - Book Review

Nothing But Sky Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Nothing But Sky by Amy Trueblood.  An author I follow, Abigail Johnson, retweeted the author of the book that said that this book was on sale and I immediately went to go and check it out.  To say the least, after hitting page 9 (ebook format) I quickly bought the book because I was super intrigued and wanted to know the entire story.

The TBR Book Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a great day.  Today, I'm doing the TBR Book Tag.  I saw this tag over on The Book Nut blog, and I believe Erin was the one who answer the questions on this tag.  I thought this was a super fun tag and it gives me a chance to relook at all of the books on my TBR list, which I do need to look over and see what books that I want to keep/remove from my TBR.  So what better way to do that than to do a post like this!

True Light by G. Bailey - Book Review

True Light Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing True Light by G. Bailey.  I've been wanting to read something different recently to step away from the normal romance/contemporary stories, so I went in search to find something different.  I saw this book on Amazon's best seller list and it made me intrigued to what the story was about.

Halloween Creatures 2.0 Book Tag

Happy Halloween everyone!  I hope you're all having a spooky, fun-filled day.  Today, I'm doing the Halloween Creatures 2.0 Tag.  I saw this tag over on Destiny's blog, Howling Library's, and a few other bloggers blogs.  I thought it would be fun to do a spooky kind of post on Halloween, just before the spooky season is officially over!

The Spooky Book Tag

Hello everyone!  I hope you're all having a great day!  Today, I'm doing The Spooky Book Tag.  Normally, I would have posted a book review today since I like to post a book review every other week, but sadly I'm reading books a lot slower so I need to spend some time one of these days and start catching up.  I saw this tag over on Nicole's blog, Nicole Henderson Reads and I want to try to do as many spooky posts as I can before October ends.  I have another Halloween like post going up on Halloween, so be on the lookout for that this upcoming Wednesday!

The Sibling Book Tag

How's it going everyone.  I hope you're all having a great day. Today, I'm doing The Sibling Book Tag. I saw this one over on Rae's blog, Thrifty Bibliophile, and I thought it was another fun book tag that I could do here.   I really liked the idea of basing certain books as if they were certain types of children in a household: Only child, Oldest to Youngest siblings, Twins 😉, and of course step-siblings. This is one of my most straight to the point post that I've done, so let's get to answering some questions.

The Fall Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a wonderful day!  Today, I'm going to be doing the Fall Tag.  I was tagged by the lovely Geraldine over at Geraldine Talks and this tag was created by Ellduclos, so thank you Geraldine for tagging me.  Let's jump right in!

Empress Unveiled by Jenna Morland - Book Review

Empress Unveiled Book Cover
Hello everyone! Today, I’ll be reviewing Empress Unveiled by Jenna Morland.  A few months back the author had followed me on Twitter and I have been keeping tabs on this book until it was finally published last month in September.  Even though it took me a while to read it (curse you school and non-stop homework), I'm so glad that I bought this book!

The Sunshine Blogger Award

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a fantastic day!  Today, I'm doing The Sunshine Blogger Award!  I was nominated by my amazing twin sister, Jordan over at My Flourishing Retrospect on October 3rd. Thank you, Jordan, so much for nominating me for this award.  I've never been nominated for any blogging type awards before so I'm happy to be nominated by you!  Anyways, let's jump right in!

I Dare You Book Tag

How's it going everyone.  I hope you're all having a fabulous day.  Today, I'm doing the I Dare You Book Tag.  I saw this tag over on Emily's blog, Yes Whale.  I've been super lucky recently when it comes to finding new tags and I think they are super fun to do.  Also, I want to try to do Blogtober/Blogoween this year, but here is my dilemma/problem. I can only post once a week because of school since I have little to no time to write 31 posts for an entire month, so I'm partially participating with only 4 posts this month (if this actually counts, which I have no idea if it really does) but it's better than nothing at all!

Model Spy by Shannon Greenland - Book Review

Model Spy Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Model Spy by Shannon Greenland.  I found this book on iBook's Top Charts.  As many of you may or may not know, I love spy books wholeheartedly.  I've tried my hand at writing them and have written my unpublished series, my blog name involves spies (hence the name The Little Book Spy), and I've searched high and low for any spy books that I can read.  When I found this book, I was hooked immediately and extremely interested and I am so glad that I found it.

This is My Genre, Tell Me Yours Book Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a swell day.  Today, I'm going to be doing the This is My Genre, Now Tell Me Yours Book Tag.  I saw this tag over on Lucy's blog, Lucy's Bookish World, and I thought it would be a fun to do a cute, short tag.  Compared to my previous book tag that was super long, this one is a lot shorter.  So, I hope you enjoy!

A Whole New League by Maggie Dallen - Book Review

A Whole New League Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing A Whole New League by Maggie Dallen.  I got this book about a few months ago and technically I should have finished this book way sooner than September, but sadly my reading slump has liked to come back after every book that I read.

A Video Gamer's Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a wonderful day.  Today, I'm doing A Video Gamer's Tag!  This is a tag was created by my twin sister, Jordan over at My Flourishing Retrospect.  I actually helped a little bit to create this tag (like one or two questions), and I told her if she does this kind of a tag on her blog, I would automatically do one on my own blog too. Just so I can change up the posts on my blog.

The Ghost of You and Me by Kelly Oram - Book Review

The Ghost of You and Me Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing The Ghost of You and Me by Kelly Oram.  I've had this book on my kindle app since late March of this year.  After looking at my excel spreadsheet list that I've started using to keep track of what books I've read, need to read, and other small pieces of info that I use to keep track of for my reading goal this year, I saw this book and I knew that I needed a good contemporary story and this book fit the bill.

Back to School Book Tag

How's it going everyone! I hope you're all having a fantastic day. Today, I'm doing the Back to School Book Tag. I saw this tag over on Heather's blog, The Frozen Book Blog. On Monday, my college classes have official started, and I thought it would be fun to do a Back to School themed book tag because what better way to say schools officially started than to do something school themed? As a side note, because school has started my schedule is looking busier than I originally thought, which is scary at the moment, but everything will work out in the end. So, based on my time and my already scheduled future posts that I wrote during my break, things might get put on the back burner because homework always comes first. But enough about me talking about my schoolwork (that I'm probably working on as this post is uploaded). Let's answer some questions!

Elsker by S. T. Bende - Book Review

Elsker Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Elsker by S. T. Bende. You all maybe familiar with another book that I recently reviewed that she also wrote called, Perfekt Order.  I ended up reading these two books one after the other because I loved the authors writing style.  This book was also on my TBR and I figured that if I liked her other book, then I knew that I would like this one just as much!

The 20 Question Book Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a fantastic day.  Today, I'm doing The 20 Questions Book Tag.  I've been wanted to do some new tags so I've been searching around a few fellow blogger friend's past blog posts and saw this one over on Adrianna's blog, For the Love of Books, and I thought it would be super fun to do a longer kind of book tag.  I'm going to try to keep my answers as short and sweet as possible, so let's get to it!

Follow Me Back by A. V. Geiger - Book Review

Follow Me Back Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger. When I first came to the book community on Twitter, I had seen this book floating around when it was close to its release date and I was interested in seeing what this book was going to be about. I was lucky enough to get this book during iBook's weekly Free Book of the Week sale back in June and I jumped into it immediately after finishing the book that I had read prior.

All About Reading Book Tag

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having a wonderful day.  Today, I'm going to be doing the All About Reading Book Tag.  I saw this tag over on Lefty's blog, The Left Handed Book Lover, and I thought it would be super fun to do this tag on my blog.  I think tags are super fun and different kind of post than the normal book reviews that my blog has posted a ton of in the past.  In addition, my reading of books has slowed down tremendously, which is why I've tried to branch out to do different kinds of blog posts.  So, let's answer some new questions!

Kiss of Fire by Rebecca Ethington - Book Review

Kiss of Fire Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Kiss of Fire by Rebecca Ethington. I'd seen this book for a while when I would go onto iBooks, but it sat on my TBR list for a long time.  For some reason, every time I looked at my TBR list right now, it seems to keep getting bigger and bigger any time I open my iBooks.  So, I decided to look at all of the backlogged books and thought that with all of the books that I had listed, I should start with this book first.  Let's move on to my review.

Behind the Screen: A Book Blogger Tag

How's it going everyone! I hope you're all having a fantastic Friday the 13th. Today, I'm going to be doing Behind the Screen: A Book Blogger Tag. I was tagged on July 3rd by Adrianna over at For the Love of Books, so thank you again Adrianna for tagging me.  When I saw that I was tagged in this tag, I was completely shocked. I've never actually been tagged in a tag before, so this is super cool and new to me. A majority of the tags that I've done are things that I've found online or have seen other people do on their own blog in the past. In addition, this is The Little Book Spy's 100th blog post, and I think doing this tag is the perfect way to celebrate 100 posts (especially since I had no clue what to write for my blog's milestone)! Now, let's answer some questions!

Perfekt Order by S. T. Bende - Book Review

Perfekt Order Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Perfekt Order by S.T. Bende. This was a book that I have been wanting to read for a long while now. During one of iBooks Free Book of the Week deals a couple of weeks ago, this book had shown up as one of the free books. I super happy that I was able to get this book and as soon as I finished reading the previous book I reviewed, I immediately started reading this book.

By Your Side by Kasie West - Book Review

By Your Side Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing By Your Side by Kasie West.  If any of you follow me on twitter, I had tweeted out about trying to resist the urge to purchase another book because I had seen a a fellow book blogger tweet about several ebooks being on sale.  At first, I was doing good to not purchase any other books and trying to read what I already had, then I caved at midnight, May 25th, and bought this book and I was so glad I did.  I read a sample of the story a while back and I was super intrigued about the story, so I kept my eye out for a sale and I finally was able to get another great read.

Embrace by Jessica Shirvington - Book Review

Embrace Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Embrace by Jessica Shirvington.  I got this book back in early January and this was technically supposed to be the second finished book on My 2018 Reading Goal, but I had put it off to the side to finished reading later.  I realized that during my reading goal this year I needed to go back and read any book that I've started but have yet to finish. I thought it would be great idea, so I picked up this book and start reading again, and I was glad I had.

Would You Rather? Book Tag

How's it going everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful day. Today, I'm going to be doing another fun tag called the Would You Rather? Book Tag. When I was scrolling through my twitter feed during the last week of May, I saw this tag over on Justine's blog, Bookish Wisps, and I thought it would be another fun tag to do! I'm trying to change up some of my posts from being constant book reviews to have a few different posts in between so I'm not boring anyone with the same content every week. I like choosing fun tags to do here on the blog and whenever I see a new tag that looks fun, I'm going to try to do it because, why not? Anyways, on with the tag!

Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum -Tell Me Three Things Book Review

Tell Me Three Things Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum.  I'd seen the that this book was on sale a for a while back in early April, it was only until the last day of April that I decided to get the book.  Now, because of everything that was going on between the month of April and into May, I was so busy with school and other things, I didn't have the energy to read until May 18 when I decided that I needed to start reading again.  I've been keeping up with reading, but I don't know how long it will last.  Anyways, let's jump right in with this review.

The Summer Book Tag

How's it going everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely day. Today, I'm doing The Summer Book Tag. Like a few other tags that I've done in the past, I was searching online for some tags that I thought it would be fun to do here on the blog. This one was supposed to go out last summer, but I ended up being slightly a little too late because it wasn't summer anymore and I felt like I needed to read some more books, so I wasn't repeating myself when answering some of these questions. Since I've read a few more books since then, it might be easier to answer these questions without reusing some of the same answers from my previous tags. So, let's get started!

Lucky in Love by Kasie West - Book Review

Lucky in Love Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Lucky in Love by Kasie West. I saw this book during one of iBooks periodic sales and I thought that after the book that I read by Kasie West, P.S. I Like You, that I would try another one of her stories since I really like the last one.  Now, I'm extremely behind on book reviews, especially since I finished this book back in March, and have been postponing some of my reviews because of my reading slump, but hopefully during my time off I'll be able to get through some of the books on my TBR.  Anyways, on with my review!

The Summer We Believed by Shel Delisle - Book Review

The Summer We Believed Book Cover
How’s it going everyone.  Today, I’ll be reviewing The Summer We Believed by Shel Delisle.  I had seen this book during the summer of 2017 and I had gotten it, along with a few other books, but because of my reading slump, a lot of books ended up getting put on the back burner until I could shake myself of until my winter break.  I did push reading this story off several times after I had tried to read it, but back in February, I decided to finish it because I was almost done with it.

Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally - Book Review

Catching Jordan Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally.  I found this book in iBooks top free section and I thought it would be a great read.  When I read the description, the story intrigued me so as soon as I finished Daughter of the Pirate King, which is the book that I reviewed a while back, I immediately jumped into this one.

How to Hang A Witch by Adriana Mather - Book Review

How to Hang A Witch Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing How to Hang A Witch by Adriana Mather. I saw this book when I had just started to join the book community on Twitter and just recently on April 2nd I saw that this book was on sale. Now, I had this book in my sights for a while and I think the price has been the same for almost a year, I could be wrong, but that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that this book contains two things that will always piqued my interest, witches and ghosts. I knew immediately after the first couple of pages I was going to love this book.

Streaming on Twitch w/ Jordan

How's it going everyone! I hope you're all having a fantastic day so far! Today, I have some exciting news to share with you all. Jordan and I had asked this back in mid-March and have since then hinted at it with a few posts. Until we finally announced what we were doing on Twitter, which I guess makes it official as of March 29, but here is the news that we want to share with you all in a more detailed post...

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller - Book Review

Daughter of the Pirate King Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. This was a book that I had seen advertised on October 1, 2016, during Brittany's Book Rambles #BBTC chat and it was on my TBR for the longest while. In early February, I saw that the ebook was on sale and automatically snatched it up. After reading a sample of the chapter from someone’s blog before the book was published, I knew I would love this book without a doubt.

Letters from a Prince by Victoria Hart - Book Review

Letters from a Prince Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Letters from a Prince by Victoria Hart.  One night when I was looking through Amazon's top free section, like I normally do when I have time, I saw this book and read the description which automatically made me want to read it.  There was an old iPhone app that I had gotten a few years ago and this book reminded me of and I was already hooked after barely reading the first page.

Senior Week Crush by Maggie Dallen - Book Review

Senior Week Crush Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Senior Week Crush by Maggie Dallen. I found this book on Amazon in the Top 100 Romance section back in late December. This book had just been published a couple of days earlier when I purchased it and the description of the story really interested me. When I got this book, I did notice that it was the second book in a series, but luckily for me, these books can be read as a standalone. Anyways, let's jump right in with my review.

Happy 2nd Blogiversary to The Little Book Spy

How's it going everyone!  I hope you're all having an amazing day!  Today my blog, The Little Book Spy, is two years old!  I still can't believe it's been two years since I started this blog!  I'm still in complete awe that two years have just flown by.  Because of that, today I wanted to reflect and kind of update everyone on my blog and talk about some things.  I know it's probably not that interesting of a post because it might be similar to something I wrote last year, but I like writing these kinds of post.  It's kind of a reflection of growth and how I want to improve here.  So, I hope you all enjoy!

The Edge of Juniper by Lora Richardson - Book Review

The Edge of Juniper Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing The Edge of Juniper by Lora Richardson.  I got this book back in early/mid July on Amazon when I was in search of some new reads.  When I saw this book, it really intrigued me and I knew from the little bit that I had read, that I was going to like this book.  Now, I only got around to reading it recently in late December along with a few other books, which will be coming soon, hopefully.  As long as I keep up with my homework and plan accordingly, I’ll be able to finish up a few of the book reviews that I need to complete.  Anyways, let's get on with my review!

Friday, February 16, 2018

All Laced Up by Erin Fletcher - Book Review

All Laced Up Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing All Laced Up by Erin Fletcher.  I'd seen this book about two years ago now, back in 2016, when a fellow blogger had reviewed the book on their blog.  I did try to look for the review, but for some reason I can't remember who posted it.  Anyways, after I started to get out of my reading slump, I wanted to read a sweet teen romance and when I started scrolling through my TBR list in iBooks, I started reading a sample of this book and soon bought it immediately afterwards back in late November and I'm so glad I bought this book.

The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak - Book Review

The Heartbreakers Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak.  When I was on iBooks on back in early December, I came across this title on sale.  I had wanted to read this one for a while after seeing it multiple times.  I loved reading contemporary stories so this was just the book I needed to help complete my quest for another great contemporary story to read.  I've been in a contemporary mood for so long, all I've wanted to read recently are cute stories, just like this one.  Anyways let's jump right in with my review!

When It's Real by Erin Watt - Book Review

When It's Real Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. I know it's late into the month of January, but Happy New Year's to all of you.  Today, I’ll be reviewing When It's Real by Erin Watt.  This was my first book that I finished reading in 2018.  I got this book on New Year's Eve when it was on sale for a really good price.  I did have to search for the description of the story because it just mentioned it's release date only when I purchased it from iBooks, so I had to go to Amazon to search for it before I bought the book, but after reading the description, I was super interested in the story.
