Follow Me Back by A. V. Geiger - Book Review

Follow Me Back Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger. When I first came to the book community on Twitter, I had seen this book floating around when it was close to its release date and I was interested in seeing what this book was going to be about. I was lucky enough to get this book during iBook's weekly Free Book of the Week sale back in June and I jumped into it immediately after finishing the book that I had read prior.

Summary:
Tessa Hart's world feels very small.  Confined to her bedroom with agoraphobia, her one escape is the online fandom for pop sensation Eric Thorn. When he tweets to his fans, it's like he's speaking directly to her...

Eric Thorn is frightened by his obsessive fans. They take their devotion way too far. It doesn't help that his PR team keeps posting to encourage their fantasies.

When a fellow pop star is murdered at the hands of a fan, Eric knows he has to do something to shatter his online image fast--like take down one of his top Twitter followers. But Eric's plan to troll @TessaHeartsEric unexpectedly evolves into an online relationship deeper than either could have imagined. And when the two arrange to meet IRL, what should have made for the world's best episode of Catfish takes a deadly turn...

Told through tweets, direct messages, and police transcripts, this thriller for the online generation will keep you guessing right up to the shocking end.

My Thoughts:
I really liked reading this story.  This book was intense, in a good way.  I liked being able to read the police reports when they explain what was happening at current time and being able to flip between the past and present while reading.  Normally, I'm not a third person POV fan because I get lost so easily, but this book was written so well I was able to follow along with the story easily.  After a terrifying event that is explained later in the story, Tessa starts writing fan fiction with her focus on pop star, Eric Thorn, posts it online using the hashtag (#EricThornObsessed).  Not only does it skyrocket in popularity immediately, it also catches the attention of a certain someone who hates the kind of attention that he's receiving from his fans.  It did take me a little bit to get into this book, but once everything started to get set into motion, with Eric talking with Tessa through their twitter DM's, it was hard to stop reading because I needed to know what happened next.  The ending of this book took a completely different turn than I thought it would, but it was still a good ending that made you wonder what was going to happen next, even with a cliff hanger of a police report.  Overall, the book, Follow Me Back, will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
