Model Spy by Shannon Greenland - Book Review

Model Spy Book Cover
How’s it going everyone. Today, I’ll be reviewing Model Spy by Shannon Greenland.  I found this book on iBook's Top Charts.  As many of you may or may not know, I love spy books wholeheartedly.  I've tried my hand at writing them and have written my unpublished series, my blog name involves spies (hence the name The Little Book Spy), and I've searched high and low for any spy books that I can read.  When I found this book, I was hooked immediately and extremely interested and I am so glad that I found it.

Summary:
TEEN GENIUS, GIGI, IS IN A LOT OF HOT WATER.

A whiz with computers, she agrees to help her college RA, David, uncover some top-secret information. After all, she doesn't have any family or many friends and David has always been nice to her. It doesn't hurt that he's super cute and irresistible, too. All she has to do is hack into the government's main computer system.

But a few hours later, her whole life changes. She is caught and taken in for questioning, only this isn't your run-of-the-mill arrest. Rather than serve a juvenile detention sentence, she accepts the option to change her name and enlist in a secret government spy agency that trains orphaned teens to go undercover.

As if that wasn't overwhelming enough, she discovers that David works for this agency as well! And before she even begins to understand what is going on, she's sent on her first mission as an undercover model. And who better to partner with than David himself! But can she pull this off, or will she lose the only family she's come to know?

My Thoughts:
I love this book so much! This was everything that I wanted in a spy book and I've been trying to find one for so long. Kelly, better known as Gigi (Genius Girl), was a very cool and fun character to read from. When I first started this book, because Gigi was in college, I figured she was eighteen, but when I found out she was sixteen and on her last year of college, I was surprised. She was very mature character for her age, which I liked. I like the kind of quirks that she had as well, like the backwards speaking and the clumsiness that she had. It made for a very fun change when she had to get into character to go on her first mission and pretend to be a model. Each of the characters in the story had very unique personalities as well and it was fun to see how each of these very different people all made one big "family" being a part of the second group of specialists. The pacing of the story was perfect, and it was super easy to follow along. I liked how the story originally started off since they had to collect each specialist because of their certain skill set. My only problem that I did have was trying to remember who certain characters were, since they were using their codenames to refer to each other opposed to their real names. I ended up getting slightly lost as to who everyone was based on their codename. Overall, I loved this story and if you like spy books, then I definitely recommend reading this one!
