Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale has one job: protect humans from dangerous fae...
It's a job she's good at—until the cute guy whose life she just saved follows her back into the dangerous world of magic. Now she's broken Guild law, landing herself in a whole lot of trouble.
The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the guy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he's discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot—and it'll take all her training to get out alive.

My Thoughts:
Violet was probably one of the most smart mouthed, determine, and heroic character in this story and I loved it. I like when characters can defend themselves and hold their ground against others. Whether they’re fighting villains or arguing with other characters. When I got to the climax, I literally was shocked at the outcome. It didn’t even cross my mind that something was going to happen, until a page or two before I knew something wasn’t right. I remember my mind screaming at the virtual page on my phone, “No, don’t you dare Violet! It’s a trap, something’s telling me it’s a trap!” Yeah, lets just say I got a couple of weird glances from my sister when I said that aloud. But you’ll have to find out for yourself. I won’t give any spoilers away, I promise!
I loved the characters dialogue in the story too. They had lots of chemistry, whether they had feelings for each other or they hated each other beyond imaginable. Being able to feel all of Violet emotions, it really gave me an attachment to her. Ryn was one of those characters that were mysterious, making you curious about who he was and why his role in the story was so important. With his anger towards Violet, I was certain that they hated each other because of personality difference and the fight for graduating at the top of the class. The more I read in the story, I finally understood why he was so angry. What really interested me in this story was the fae realm. Even though there were dangerous creatures in the fae realm that would travel to the human world, its probably one place that I would have loved to visit. If you like faeries which strong personalities, magical battles, and an action packed adventure, you should definitely check this book out.
