Chasing Nikki by Lacey Weatherford - Book Review

Chasing Nikki Book Cover
How’s it going everyone! Today, I’ll be reviewing Chasing Nikki by Lacey Weatherford.  This is another great book that I loved reading.  I was basically reading one Lacey Weatherford book after another when I started my constant reading phase and this book, like all of her others that she’s written, all became books that were my favorite.

About the Book:
Title: Chasing Nikki
Author: Lacey Weatherford
Release Date: February 27, 2012
Series: Chase Walker Series #1
Genre: Contemporary
Pages: 320

My Rating: 5/5 ⭐️

Summary:
Chase Walker used to be a good kid--charming, athletic, and with a bright future ahead, but that was before travesty struck his life, sinking him into deep despair. Caught up in a world of drugs and alcohol, he doesn't notice time slipping away until he's arrested for underage drinking one night.

Fed up with watching her son destroy his life, Chase's mom relocates him to live in a small ranching community with his ex-military grandfather. Chase is far from happy about the situation until he meets, Nikki, the cute cheerleader who won't give football players like him the time of day.

Chase enjoys a good challenge though and sets out to claim Nikki for his own. He soon discovers she's more than a pretty face--she's a balm to his troubled spirit also. But when tragedy strikes Nikki's life too, suddenly Chase finds himself put to the ultimate test. Can he trust Nikki, and all that she's taught him? Will it be enough?

My Thoughts:
This book has so many emotions!  This story is from the perspective of Chase, who’s going through a hard time because of the death of his father.  With his life spinning into chaos, getting in trouble with the law, Chase and his mother move into his grandparent’s farmhouse.  Then he meets Nikki, a cheerleader who Chase is determined to date.  Nikki is obviously a very smart girl since she knows that Chase could bring her trouble.  Over time, Chase and Nikki grow super close and he begins to be open with her about everything.  They spend lots of time with each other and have a relationship that makes you smile and cheering for Chase and Nikki throughout the entire story.  Until something happens...  I’m not going to mention what happens, but in order to read this book, expect to smile until your face hurts in the beginning.  Then make sure you have tissues with you because you will probably cry your eyes out.  This specific scene I’m talking about makes you think about life and how spontaneous it is and how to be appreciative of the things that you have.  I really suggest reading this story.  It’ll is a heartfelt story that is full of so much emotion that I think everyone will love.
