Can't Wait Wednesday #14 - Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

Hi all!  It's Wednesday again and I'm back with another Can't Wait Wednesday! This week, I have another YA book that I'm extremely excited for. There are so many book coming out in Fall 2020 and I'm so excited for so many of them! If you're not familiar with the meme, this is a bookish meme hosted by Tressa over at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming release books that we're excited for.

About the Book:
Title: Kingdom of the Wicked
Author: Kerri Maniscalco
Release Date: October 27, 2020
Series: Kingdom of the Wicked #1
Genre: Historical
Pages: 448

Summary:
Two sisters. One brutal murder. A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself... And an intoxicating romance.

Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe- witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family's renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin... desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister's killer and to seek vengeance at any cost-even if it means using dark magic that's been long forbidden.

Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia's side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women's murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems...

Last year, I read the entire Stalking Jack the Ripper series and it ended up being one of my favorite series. When I saw the announcement for Kingdom of the Wicked, I was ecstatic! Witchcraft and intoxicating romance, sign me up! I signed up for Kerri's newsletter and I was able to get an early sneak peek at the story's prologue and I was able to read an excerpt of Chapter 1, I've attached the link if you want to read it for yourself! I will admit, after re-reading the description I definitely get an Audrey Rose and Thomas vibe, which I'm definitely excited for. However, I'll admit, I'm probably going to be a mess when I get to the scene where Emilia discovers her twin sister, Vittoria. As a twin, that scene will probably cause me to be a crying mess. Overall, I'm extremely excited for this new series!

About the Author:
Kerri Maniscalco grew up in a semi-haunted house outside NYC where her fascination with gothic settings began. In her spare time she reads everything she can get her hands on, cooks all kinds of food with her family and friends, and drinks entirely too much tea while discussing life’s finer points with her cats.

She is the #1 NYT and USA Today bestselling author of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series and the forthcoming Kingdom of the Wicked.

Is this book on your radar? What book are you looking forward to being released? Until next time!
