Summary:
Love is everything but expected.Eden Monro came to California for a summer of sun, sand and celebrities – what better way to forget about the drama back home? Until she meets her new family of strangers: a dad she hasn't seen in three years, a stepmonster and three stepbrothers.
Eden gets her own room in her dad's fancy house in Santa Monica. A room right next door to her oldest stepbrother, Tyler Bruce. Whom she cannot stand. He's got angry green eyes and ego bigger than a Beverly Hills mansion. She's never felt such intense dislike for someone. But the two are constantly thrown together as his group of friends pull her into their world of rule-breaking, partying and pier-hanging.
And the more she tries to understand what makes Tyler burn hotter than the California sun, the more Eden finds herself falling for the one person she shouldn't...
My Thoughts:
This book kept me enthralled from the very first chapter. Eden was a very easy character to like. When she first arrived in Santa Monica, you could tell instantly that she wasn't happy visiting her dad and his "new" family. Even though she had anger against her dad for leaving and never speaking to her after her parents’ divorce, I was glad she was able to put on a brave face just for the summer, even though she didn't want to be there. When Eden met her step-brother, Tyler, for the first time, I knew exactly who he was before the story told me who he was. At first, I thought this story was going to be a sweet romance story, nope! It's a story that's filled with lots of drama and twists and turns that I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. When you first meet Tyler, it's probably the worst greeting and impression a girl could get from her new step-brother, but it was definitely a shocking/funny way to introduce to a new character. Tyler was the bad boy of the story and when Eden finds out about all of the problems he's gotten himself into, I felt terrible. Probably the most shocking part of the story was finding out the real reason why Eden was invited to come out to California for the summer. I felt bad for Eden, to find out the real and only reason why she was invited to California stung.Throughout the story, Eden and Tyler started to develop feelings for each other. At first, they both continued to deny their feelings because they were step-siblings, but as time went on, they grew closer because of the things that they knew about each other. It was kind of weird that Eden and Tyler had feeling for each other, since they were step-siblings, but the way they handled it was probably for the best because of their situation. One thing that probably put a tailspin on everything was when Tyler's girlfriend, or should I say the crazy girlfriend he could never break-up with, found out about their feelings. When she found out, chaos erupted. She was so used to having Tyler by her side for the popularity and the looks, she was willing to say and do anything to make sure she kept him on a tight leash. There is so much that I want to say about this story, but it would definitely be a spoiler so I'm going to leave this post here. If you like stories that involve family drama, secret forbidden romance's, and heartbreak, I definitely suggest reading this story.

Thank you all so much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed this review/suggestion. This will most likely be my last post for the year of 2017 and darn, this year has gone by so fast. I can't believe that in literally two days, it'll be 2018 and in two months I'm coming up on my two-year blogiversary in February.
Thank you all for your wonderful support. I know since school started, I haven't posted much, but thank you for being here. I've had a blast doing this blog and I look forward to the new things to come in the upcoming year of 2018. Again, Happy New Year to you all.
So, until next year.
