You'd Be Mine by Erin Hahn - Book Review

You’d Be Mine Book Cover
Happy Friday y'all! Today, I’m going be reviewing You'd Be Mine by Erin Hahn. This book had been on my TBR since it came out last April (2019) and in January I decided to pick it up. I've been listening to a ton of Nashville cast music recently and this book was definitely what I was looking for.

About the Book:
Title: You'd Be Mine
Author: Erin Hahn
Release Date: April 2, 2019
Genre: Romance
Pages: 281

My Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️

Summary:
Annie Mathers is America’s sweetheart and heir to a country music legacy full of all the things her Gran warned her about. Superstar Clay Coolidge is most definitely going to end up one of those things.

But unfortunately for Clay, if he can’t convince Annie to join his summer tour, his music label is going to drop him. That’s what happens when your bad boy image turns into bad boy reality. Annie has been avoiding the spotlight after her parents’ tragic death, except on her skyrocketing YouTube channel. Clay’s label wants to land Annie, and Clay has to make it happen.

Swayed by Clay’s undeniable charm and good looks, Annie and her band agree to join the tour. From the start fans want them to be more than just tour mates, and Annie and Clay can’t help but wonder if the fans are right. But if there’s one part of fame Annie wants nothing to do with, it’s a high-profile relationship. She had a front row seat to her parents’ volatile marriage and isn’t interested in repeating history. If only she could convince her heart that Clay, with his painful past and head over heels inducing tenor, isn’t worth the risk.

My Thoughts:
You'd Be Mine was a roller coaster of a story filled with adventure, romance, heartbreak, and what it's like to be a star in the spotlight. Like I said above, I've recently been listening to the music created by the cast of the TV show, Nashville. This book honestly made me really miss the show! The music that was written in the book reminded me of the music from the show, which made it really enjoyable. You read from two POVs, Annie and Clay in the story. I loved being able to see both perspectives, it was interesting to see the thoughts that ran through their head during certain scenes. The way it was written was phenomenal because of how in-depth it went into the story when it come to the each of the problems each character in the story faced, which made it easy to be in their shoes.

I loved watching Annie and Clay on tour and how they had their fun and flirty rivalry. Then when they're off stage, you see a different side to them. You see their "fame persona" when they're on the stage, then when the spotlight it gone, you see the demons that they have to deal with in their lives. You have Annie, who was still dealing and coping with the death of her parents and how she didn't want to history to repeat itself. Then you have Clay. He has a bad boy reputation on top of his own demons that he's dealing with since becoming a star.

Annie was a very smart and outgoing girl. Music was in her blood and she knew more than anyone that the stage called to her. Clay was a huge jerk and very self-centered when you're first introduced to him, but after you got to know his character and when he goes through his rough patch, he was a very like-able and swoon-worthy character in the end. Both Annie and Clay had very good chemistry. I enjoyed seeing their flirty on-stage rivalry turn into something meaningful when they do open up to each other. Overall, if you're looking for country romance, then I definitely recommend checking out this book for yourself.
