BlackMoon Beginnings by Kaitlyn Hoyt - Book Review

BlackMoon Beginnings Book Cover
How's it going everyone!  I hope you're having a great day.  Today, I’ll be reviewing BlackMoon Beginnings by Kaitlyn Hoyt.  I found this book when I went on a book binging spree.  Basically this is when I go and search around the iBook store and gather a collection of books that look interesting to me and this was one of them that I had found.  I did however find this book a year ago, so you can already probably tell for future post, I go on a lot of book binges. Let’s get started.

About the Book:

My Rating: 5/5 ⭐️

Summary:
Sometimes, the Fates have other plans in mind.

Ryanne Arden was on track to becoming Stormfield High School’s Valedictorian. Being the shy, studious type, she’d always done her own thing. That all changed with a drunk driver. With the death of her mother, Ryanne became more alone than she’d ever been. With no friends or family to turn to, a local woman named Jane offered to help Ryanne in her time of need.

A visit to the local bookstore changed Ryanne’s life forever. That’s where she met Colton Wagner, who awoke something in Ryanne she didn’t know she had. Being the only non-mage to ever gain magic, paints a target on Ryanne’s back for it has been prophesized that a non-mage female would end the chaos created by rogue mages, the Gadramicks. Dravin, their manipulative leader, will do anything within his power to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled.

Finding out that she's an intricate part to ending a prophesized war, Ryanne has the weight of all mages on her shoulders. With the help of Colton and his family, along with a healer, a dream-walker, and a loud-mouthed mage, Ryanne sets out on the journey of a lifetime.

My Thoughts:
I loved this story.  The description in this story was amazing, it had enough intricate detail that I could create the world and see all of the little tiny details that the town of Stormfield had.  Also, how could you not love Colton’s entire family?  They are the magical coven ready for war, with everything planned in advance, which is kind of scary, but cool at the same time.  Better to be prepared rather than unprepared, or should I say expect the unexpected (Sorry, it’s a Big Brother saying I had to include it).  This story made me question lots of things that were happening to Ryanne.  Like when she meets a dream-walker in her dreams, this character made me extremely curious as to why they would meet and what his purpose was exactly in the story.  Was the dream-walker good or evil?  When war comes into play, the fighting/battle scene was amazing.  I could literally see everyone fighting, as if I were there at that moment in time.  This was a really amazing book and I’m glad I found it.
