Surviving Adam Meade by Shannon Klare - Book Review

Surviving Adam Meade Book Cover
Happy Friday. Today, I’ll be reviewing Surviving Adam Meade by Shannon Klare. I'm finally making it through some of the books that have been on my TBR for a while and since I was in the mood for a sweet contemporary, I decided to pick up this book first.

About the Book:
Title: Surviving Adam Meade
Author: Shannon Klare
Release Date: August 14, 2018
Genre: Romance
Pages: 304

My Rating: 3/5 ⭐️

Summary:
Seventeen-year-old Claire Collins has a plan: get into college and leave North Carolina behind. What she doesn’t have is an idea for how to get rid of the local football star and womanizer extraordinaire—Adam Meade, who she can’t even avoid (despite many efforts), because Claire’s dad is the high school football coach.

Seventeen-year-old Adam Meade never fails. He always gets what he wants... until he meets Claire, the new girl who leaves him unnerved, pissed off, and confused. But there’s something about her that he just can’t resist...

My Thoughts:
This was a pretty cute story. Before Claire's senior year, her dad gets a new job as a high school football coach in a small town of North Carolina, forcing her to leave behind her old life, her friends, and her boyfriend. All that Claire was hoping for was to finish out her senior year quietly and head off to college in Alabama without anything holding her back. After Claire's last boyfriend broke her heart, she swore off dating quarterbacks, that is until she meets Adam Meade.

Claire was a very likable character. She was sweet, kind, and cautious. Adam was kind of a jerk in the beginning. However, after they got to know each other more, Adam was nice and caring. He wasn't the jerk he let others see him as. I'll admit, I wasn't really feeling the chemistry between Claire and Adam. Their relationship started out rough, but when they started to get closer, they didn't have a spark that connected them.

One thing I didn't care for was how this book was very fast paced and jumpy. I felt like everything in this book flew by in a blur as time continued to move very quickly in this book. I also noticed that Adam and his situation seemed familiar to another book that I've read in the past. Overall, I enjoy the story and found it to be a very cute and entertaining contemporary romance.

Thank you all so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed my review/suggestion. Until next time!
